The followers of Isis are among the most ancient of all mages. Isis was not only the goddess of life and magick, she was also cunning and subtle in her ways, always using her magick to further the goals of herself and her loved ones. There are many stories about her cleverness: she tricked Ra himself to reveal his true name to her, she helped her son Horus to win the battle against Set and she resurrected Osiris with her magicks. The priest-mages she trained learned her skills, and when she withdrew from the world they continued to serve her and themselves.
The cult has always sought to survive and prosper using all available means, whatever changes occur in the mundane and occult world. During the Ptolemies, the Priestesses worked almost openly, manipulating events so that they could spread the cult into the Roman empire and turn it into one of the largest cults (Cleopatra was most probably a member or a high ranking acolyte, doing what she could to spread it to Rome and to use Rome to further her own goals). Unfortunately their clever ways were opposed by other groups, and a war of secrecy began between the Priestesses and the growing Celestial Chorus. The Choristers found the worship of the goddess reprehensible, and did everything they could to suppress it. Slowly the Priestesses were driven underground or killed like Hypatia. They put on a great fight, mostly to hide that they actually went underground from their enemies. Some Priestesses dispersed through the Empire, while others remained in secret in Egypt. Although these groups have long since lost contact and diverged quite a bit in belief and magick, some still exist in secret.
Throughout history the Priestesses of Isis have held a low profile, always manipulating things behind the scenes or avoiding conflict. Instead they have concentrated on preserving the ancient rites and mysteries of the Goddess to prepare for the day they will again be needed, and to become the power behind the thrones of the world just as Isis was the wife and advisor of Osiris. They do their best to become the confidantes, lovers or spouses of the powerful and initiated. Some of the Priestesses have infiltrated the Verbena, but most have kept to themselves. Often they masquerade as other traditions (most mages believe Hypatia was a member of the Order of Hermes), or hide as mortal women.
One problem of the Priestesses is that from time and again some members become too ambitious and manipulate things too obviously. Usually this makes other groups aware of their existence, and the remaining priestesses have to hide. The politically active priestesses are often quite able to run things on their own, but sooner or latter they will fall when they stand alone without open support from their sisters. Due to this tendency to err on the side of caution the priestesses have several times held the reins of power in Egypt, only to lose them: Hatshepsut, Cleopatra, Shagar al-Durr. But while their queens fall, the priestesses still remain and control things from behind the scenes. In fact, they prefer to rule from the harem or the whispers of the marketplace rather than from the throne room.
The Ahl-I-Batin has fought against the machinations of the priestesses for over a millennium, but still do not understand the whole picture. They believe they have encountered several independent conspiracies, some apparently based on splinter groups of their own tradition. Little do they suspect that they, the master manipulators, have been themselves manipulated.
Today the Priestesses watch the events closely, prepared to be on the winning side, whichever that is. The priestesses dispassionately realise that it doesn't matter if the fundamentalists or liberals win in the chorus; what matters is that there will be an Egypt left to influence. To this end they secretly support the traditions against the Technocracy (although they do their best to discreetly infiltrate the highest echelons of technocracy allies) and fight the Nephandi. Their current main battle is against the Dogs of Shaitan, who has been their eluding enemies for many years.
In the struggle to complete the Plan, the remaining Priestesses will watch from their hidingplaces, biding their time. Once they realise its true meaning they will begin overt assistance, mostly by manipulating other groups. They are more intrigued by the possibility of a symbolic marriage between Osiris (Philippe) and Isis, one of their own.
Magick The Priestesses have adapted with time, and often hide their magick in plain sight as jewellery, mysterious powders and potions in the boudoir or songs. But the basis remains classic Egyptian magick: amulets, true names and invocations of the gods. Most of their magick has been formalised into traditional "spells" (the spells are somewhat inflexible, but subtle and easily cast - a few words, a simple act or a prayer). The Priestesses are usually best at Life and Mind, being rather negative to the use of Entropy, Forces and Time. Some enterprising Priestesses have adopted other ways, and use Correspondence to learn secrets from afar.

Discipolii zeitei Isis se numara printre cei mai vechi dintre toti magii/vrajitorii. Isis nu a fost doar zeita Vietii si a Magiei, a fost si vicleana si subtila in modurile ei, intotdeauna folosindu-si magia pentru a-si atinge scopurile si scopurile celor iubiti. Sunt multe povesti despre viclenia ei: l-a pacalit chiar si pe Ra sa isi dezvaluie adevaratul nume, si-a ajutat fiul, pe Horus sa castige batalia impotriva lui Seth si ea a fost cea care l-a reinviat pe Osiris cu magia ei. Preotii-vrajitori pe care ea i-a antrenat au invatat priceperile ei, iar atunci cand ea s-a retras din lumea pamanteana ei au continuat sa o slujeasca si sa se slujeasca pe ei insisi. Cultul a cautat intotdeauna sa supravietuiasca si sa prospere cu orice pret, folosind orice mijloc disponibil.A existat o perioada cand preotesele lucrau fara sa se ascunda, manipuand evenimente astfel incat sa poata imprastia cultul in Imperiul Roman si sa il transforme in unul dintre cele mai mare culte (cleopatra a fost probabil membra a cultului, facand tot ceea ce putea sa imprastie cultul in Imperiu, folosind Roma pentru a-si atinge propriile teluri). Din pacate modurile lor viclene au fost refuzate de celelalte grupuri, si un razboi secret a inceput intre preotese si Corul Ceresc care era in crestere. Coristii considerau venerarea zeitei Isis condamnabila si au facut tot ce au putut pentru a distruge cultul. Incetul cu incetul, protesele au fost fortate sa dispara sau au fost ucise precum Hypatia. Au inceput o mare batalie pentru a ascunde faptul ca au disparut in fata dusmanului. Unele preotese s-au imprastiat in Imperiu, iar altele au ramas in Egipt, ascunzandu-se. Desi aceste grupuri au pierdut contactul si difera putin in credinta si magie, unele dintre preotesele zeitei Isis inca exista in secret. De-a lungul istoriei, preotesele zeitei Isis au stat in umbra, manipuland lucrurile din spatele scenei si evitand conflictele. Au pastrat ritualurile antice si misterele zeitei, pregatindu-se pentru ziua cand vor fi chemate din nou si sa devina puterea din spatele tronurilor lumii. Asa cum Isis a fost sotia si sfatuitoarea lui Osiris, ele incearca din rasputeri sa devina confidentele, amantele sau sotiile oamenilor puternici. O problema a preoteselor este faptul ca din cand in cand unii membrii devin prea ambitiosi si manipuleaza lucrurile prea evident. De obicei, acest lucru atrage atentia si fac constiente alte grupuri de existenta lor si restul preoteselor trebuie sa se ascunda. Preotesele active din punct de vedere politic sunt destul de capabile sa se descurce singure, dar mai devreme sau mai tarziu vor cadea atunci cand vor fi singure, fara suport din partea surorilor. Datorita acestei tendinte de a gresi, preotesele au avut de cateva ori puterea in Egipt, dar au pierdut-o: Hatshepsut, Cleopatra, Shagar al-Durr. Dar in timp ce reginele lor cad, preotesele inca raman, avand control asupra lucrurilor din spatele scenei. De fapt, ele prefera sa conduca din harem sau din soaptele pietelor decat din camera tronului. Astazi, preotesele urmaresc evenimentele de aproape, pregatite sa fie pe partea castigatoare, indiferent care ar fi aceasta. Preotesele realizeaza ca nu conteaza daca fundamentalistii sau liberalii castiga, ceea ce conteaza este ca va exista un Egipt ramas ca sa il influenteze. Chiar si acum, ele incurajeaza in secret traditiile impotriva tehnocratiei (desi incearca din rasputeri sa infiltreze in mod discret cele mai inalte functii ale aliatilor tehnocratiei). Principala lor batalie, pe moment este cea impotriva "The Dogs of Shaitan", care a fost dusmanul lor de multi ani. In lupta pentru completarea Planului, preotesele care au ramas urmaresc din locurile lor ascunse. Odata ce vor realiza adevaratul sens al Planului, vor incepe sa acorde asistenta, in principal manipuland alte grupuri. Sunt mai intrigate de posibilitatea unei casatorii-simbol intre Osiris (Philippe) si Isis, una dintre a lor.
Magia Preotesele s-au adaptat de-a lungul timpului, adesea ascunzandu-si magia in lucruri simple precum bijuteriile, pudre misterioase si potiuni sau cantece. Dar principale raman clasicele magii egiptene: amulete, nume adevarate si invocatii ale zeilor. O mare parte a magiei lor a fost formalizata in traditionalele "vraji" (vrajile sunt inflexibile, dar subtile si usor de facut - cateva cuvinte, un simplu act sau o rugaciune). Preotesele sunt de obicei bune la Viata si Minte, fiind mai mult negative in folosirea Entropiei, Fortelor si Timpului. Unele preotese au adoptat alte modalitati si folosesc corespondenta pentru a invata secrete din alte tari.

Deesigur, oare nu sa inspirat crestinismul din vechiul Egipt? si de ce oamenii actuali nega magia, pe at era ceva obisnuit. Chiar Biblia vb de magicienii egipteni.

Interesant.... Dar va-ti gandit vreodata k nici Moise nu era mai puternic decat Vrajitorii Egipteni..... Toate "minunile" create de Moise nu sunt decat lucruri normale....in zilele noastre. Dar in acea perioada in kre lucrurile ceresti erau foarte putin explorate (si aici ma refer la eclipsa de Soare produsa atunci) sau fenomenele geofizice erau rudimentare (si aici ma refer la transformarea brusca a apei in sange).....precum si alte "minuni" produse in acele timpuri! Poate fi coincidenta sau poate nu...... Depinde de fiecare!!!

Impartasesc parerea lui Aton Daca aveti o parere nu ezitati sa o exprimati... Acesta presupun ca se doreste a fi un site liber in pareri si opinii Asa ca.....

Sethesh! Nu sunt chiar de acord cu tine. Daca citesti in EXod (Biblia) cele 10 pagi aduse de Moise asupra Egiptului sau transformarea toiagului in sarpe... nu mi se pare ca erau chiar lucruri normale. NU vreau sa intram in polemici religioase acuma. In ziua de azi poti face dintr-un toiag un sarpe? NU cred.

da si Luna s-a apropiat de Pamanat si forta gravitationala a despartit marea in doua nu ?
Totul se reduce la credinta de fapt. Depinde pe care parte te gasesti. Daca esti credincios atunci vei crede ca Dumnezeu, nu conteaza cum, a despartit apele Marii. Daca nu crezi, atunci vei privi cu scepticism relatarea respectiva.
